About

So you want to know more about me, John  Santiago, eh? I’m not sure where to start.

I was recently married to my high school sweetheart, Apryl, on June 28, 2016. We’re orginally from Pittsburgh, PA but decided to start a new chapter in our lives by moving to Austin, TX. As each “winter” month passes down here, we are thankful for the move!

I’m also the proud owner of a beautiful 7 month-old Golden Retriever named Bailey.

I’m a graduate of Grove City College, which is an ivy-league level private Christian school in Grove City, PA. I graduated in 2006 with a degree in Business Management.

I stumbled into the Internet marketing world my senior year of college when I enrolled into an Ecommerce class. I had always had a passion for the Internet, and from the moment the words “search engine optimization” rolled out of my professor’s mouth, I knew I had finally found my calling. During my last semester at Grove City, I began doing pro-bono work for local businesses.

bailey AboutAfter I graduated from Grove City, Robbin Steif took a chance on me and hired me as her Search Analyst at LunaMetrics. It was at LunaMetrics that I really blossomed as not just an SEO, but as an Internet marketer. Robbin was great at teaching me the ropes of SEO, conversion and Web analytics. It was unfortunate that I had to leave LunaMetrics, but it was time for my wife and I to move out of Pittsburgh. LunaMetrics is still thriving without me, so please be sure to subscribe to their blog and learn about all of the great analytics work they’re doing.

I’m now currently employed at nFusion Group here in Austin, TX. I’m a Search Marketing Specialist there, but my primary focus is on SEO. My client roster ranges from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies such as Austin’s Freescale Semiconductor. nFusion is blessed with great talent in all areas of marketing.

In addition to my ramblings here at Awesome SEO, I am also a contributor at Andy Beal’s Marketing Pilgrim. I help Andy and the MP gang cover a variety of Internet marketing topics. Make sure to subscribe to Andy’s feed so you can keep up with the latest news!
